Audition Information

Auditions are brief, about 15 minutes, and held by appointment with Founder-Artistic Director Steve Stevens. New enrollment in the choir occurs at the beginning of the season (in September) and at the beginning of the calendar year (in January). Feel free to request an audition at any time and we will work to schedule your audition for the next enrollment period.

The goal of the audition is to discover the singer’s readiness to sing in a choir. Depending on the choir you are auditioning for, we will check for voice clarity, range, musical knowledge, and sight reading capability. At the end of your audition, you will be notified as to your acceptance into the choir. See the Audition Process for each choir, below, for more specifics as to what should be prepared.

Audition Process

No formal audition is necessary. Before your singer is accepted into Prima, we require a brief interview between parent and child and the Prima Director to make sure that your child is ready to participate.
